The movie revolves around a chimpanzee (Andy Serkis) with superhuman intelligence and a scientist (James Franco). At the beginning of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the scientist finds a cure for Alzheimer’s disease that works for chimps. As a side effect, however, the baby chimp of the tested chimp turns out to have superhuman intelligence. The scientist raises this baby as if it were his own, but soon after reaching maturity, the chimp is forcibly removed to an ape sanctuary. In order to seek justice, the chimp creates an army of intelligent chimpanzees with the help of the same drug and tries to battle the humans to gain back his rightful place. The battle decides the fate of the entire planet.
